For more than a century, Missouri State University has been integral to public education in Missouri. The university began as a Normal School in 1905, preparing teachers for public schools in Southwest Missouri. The College of Education has continued the tradition of preparing future and current teachers to excel in the teaching profession—MSU graduates the most certified teachers each year in the state.
